Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

What is CBT?

Cognitive behaviour therapy is a practical and goal orientated approach toward solving/ coping with emotional and behavioural problems and enhancing personal growth.
It places a good deal of emphasis on the present: on currently held attitudes, painful emotions and maladaptive behaviours that can sabotage a fuller experience of life.

Cognitive-behavioural therapy is an evidence-based, scientifically driven approach toward the treatment of emotional and behavioural problems. It is highly practical and action-orientated and has been shown to be highly effective in treating a variety of problems, including:

    • Depression
    • Anxiety disorders (panic, phobias, OCD, PTSD, GAD)
    • Bulimia and obesity
    • Dysfunctional anger and aggression
    • Shame, shyness, and assertiveness problems
    • Relationship problems
    • Jealousy
    • Substance abuse
    • Impulse control
    • Behavioural problems and ADHD

There is overwhelming scientific evidence for its effectiveness as a dominant therapeutic approach.
