Dr Ilza obtained her BA (Psychology) degree at the University of Pretoria and her BA Honours degree in Psychology at the University of South Africa. She completed her Master’s degree (MEd (Psych)) at the University of Pretoria and received a bursary for achievement from the University of Pretoria to complete her PhD (Philosophiae Doctor).
She did a second internship at Stabilis (Treatment Centre for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patients). She also has 13 years’ experience in counselling gynaecology patients/couples in hospital for trauma of prospective abortion, chromosomal abnormalities, high risk pregnancies and post natal depression. Dr Ilza van Wyk is also a part-time lecturer in Neuropsychology and has been an external moderator and a guest lecturer for the Masters class in Psychology.
